IT Project Manager (Investment Banking)

IT Project Manager
Location: Wrocław
 
 
ROLE OVERVIEW:
 
·       Candidate will initially be responsible for the delivery of ERC project(s) of work, coordinating SDLC activities (Waterfall and Agile methodologies) across multiple business and technical stakeholders in line with business priorities.  
o   Candidate will work closely with Financial Accounting & Regulatory Reporting Business, Change and IT teams to understand requirements and work with business analysts, architecture and development resources to define solutions and deilvery roadmaps that meet business needs.  He/she will liaise with multiple IT teams to drive forward delivery.  Team management responsibilities involve working with business analysts, development leads, working closely with supplier teams to achieve desired outcomes on time.
o   Candidate must have prior experience working in financial markets and product knowledge is recommended. They must have worked in an Information Technology department.
o   Candidate is expected to exude a take-charge attitude towards problems and thrive for excellence.
o   It is a fast- paced environment and employees contribute directly to delivery.
 
·       The Project Management activities include scope confirmation, definition of implementation approach, resource planning, budget and actuals tracking, milestone tracking and stakeholder and business client management.
 
·       Domain/Content Knowledge
o   Credit Risk modelled and standarised calculation methods.
o   Basel Regulatory Requirements.
·       Maintenance of RAID (Risks, Issues, Assumptions, Dependencies) and Action Logs
o   Identification and management of risks and issues.
o   Definition of response strategies and mitigation actions.
·       Status Reporting
o   Coordinate IT status reporting (Working Group level) for all involved stakeholders.
o   Provide timely status input to the Program Manager ahead of Steer Co. (STC) meetings and when required to present specific project points of interest to STC members.
o   Influence and align status reporting activities across multiple groups including IT, Change and Line.
·       Financials & Budgets
o   Manage budget/forecast/actuals across the work streams using standard portfolio and project management tools.
o   Ensure consistent reporting of budgets/actuals/forecasts.
o   Maintain traceability & change control around budgets.
·       Quality Management
o   Adherence of CS solution delivery policies and quality guidelines within standard solution delivery framework.
o   Audit Readiness: Front-run readiness in anticipation of IT audits.
 
·       Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assume additional responsibilities as required. Navigate across many different IT and business groups and to align their priorities and requirements.
 
·       Key deliverables:
o   Ensure timely and fit for purpose delivery of agreed project deliveries and consulting mandates.
o   Tracking of project effort, milestone tracking, tracking of risks, issues and dependencies.
o   Stakeholder management: Build and maintain trust-based and professional relationships with senior IT leadership team and business stakeholders, act as sparring partner for IT management.
o   Financials tracking (budget and actuals).
o   Tracking of change requests, project financials, milestones and achievements.
 
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
·       4 years of extensive experience in IT project management.
·       Banking or Financial Sector Industry expertise.
·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·       Strong leadership and analytical skills.
·       Experience with large global projects spanning many functional areas and systems.
·       Experience in managing virtual project teams across multiple time zones.
·       Ability to work independently and within a team.
·       Detailed understanding of project lifecycles.
·       Proven track record of managing large IT projects – budget, scope, quality & risks with globally distributed teams.
·       University degree education ideally with focus on computer science or project management.
·       Strong content leader and problem solver.
·       Able to operate in politically challenging situations.
·       Experience of communicating directly with and influencing senior stakeholders.
·       Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
·       Knowledge of project management tools & systems.
·       Proficient with MS Office; excellent MS Project skills required.
·       High degree of flexibility and “can do” attitude. Ability to work with very limited level of instruction and supervision.
·       Project Management certification is a plus (PMI, PRINCE, etc).
·       The candidate must understand the front-to-back business process and must be able to solution across multiple business domains. 
·       Experience with the implementation of projects across a large and diverse stakeholder base located in multiple geographies.  
·       Fluency in English.
